The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has charged members of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Kano State to serve with diligence, patriotism and a strong sense of national responsibility.
The governor gave the charge during the official swearing-in ceremony of the corps members held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Kusalla Dam, Karaye Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Yusuf, who was represented by the Director of Special Services in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Hassan Salisu Kofar Mata, formally welcomed the corps members to Kano State, describing the state as a historic centre of commerce, culture and learning.
He encouraged the corps members to actively participate in all orientation course activities, stressing that the programme was designed to prepare them for a productive and impactful service year.
Governor Yusuf noted that the NYSC, established over five decades ago, was aimed at promoting national integration, selfless service, unity and brotherhood among Nigerians.
The Kano State NYSC Coordinator, Hajiya Halima Abubakar, expressed optimism that the corps members would experience a smooth orientation exercise and a productive service year in the state.
She commended the Kano State Government for its continued support of the NYSC scheme, noting that the governor’s directive for the renovation of camp structures and facilities underscored the administration’s commitment to the welfare of corps members.
