FG Allocates ₦1.5BN for Earth Dam Construction in Kano.

The Federal Government has allocated ₦1.5 billion for the construction of an earth dam in Bichi Local Government Area, Kano State,.

The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev, disclosed this during an inspection tour in Kano.

Speaking at the proposed site in Bela, Bichi LGA, The Minister said the project will create job opportunities and is expected to be completed within 36 months.

He emphasized the importance of the project, saying it will help boost water resources and support agriculture in the region.

The minster further explained that the project is expected to have a positive impact on the people of Bichi LGA and the surrounding communities, providing them with access to water for agriculture and other uses.

He maintained that the Federal Government’s investment in the project demonstrates its commitment to improving water resources and promoting economic development in the region.

The Minister was accompanied by the Managing Director, Hadejia Jam’are River Basin Development Authority Engineer Rabiu Suleman Bichi,which the project falls under the mandate of his agency.

Bichi said the Authority is responsible for executing such projects to enhance water management and agricultural development in the region.

The Minister also visited Jigawa State, where he performed similar ceremonies on the water resources sector.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion includes Jigawa State Deputy Governor Aminu Usman Gumel and local government chairmen of Bichi, Jahun and other relevant Stakeholders.
