Emir of Dass leads hundreds as Mbula Hill climb becomes Annual Event.

Dass Emirate Council in Bauchi State has institutionalised the climbing of Dutsen Mbula as an annual cultural event aimed at preserving heritage and strengthening communal identity.

The Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, announced this shortly after leading hundreds of residents, traditional title holders, and community leaders in the symbolic ascent of the historic hill.

The Emir explained that the Mbula hill tradition remains an important symbol of the emirate’s history, identity, and communal pride.

He noted that efforts would be intensified to further develop the ceremony into a more organised cultural attraction capable of promoting unity and strengthening community bonds.

Alhaji Usman commended participants for their resilience and commitment, stressing that the growing interest in the annual event demonstrates the community’s appreciation for its cultural heritage.

Also speaking the Executive Chairman of Dass Local Government Area Muhammad Jibo, praised the Emir for his exceptional leadership in promoting peace and cohesion across the area.

He further disclosed that January 8th of every year as the official date for the Mbula Hill climbing and pledge to continue providing necessary support to achieve the desire objectives.

Our correspondent reports that the Royal Father and his entourage spent about four hours trekking and climbing the hill, marking yet another successful edition of the tradition.
