The wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed has advised women to engage in small scale businesses to enhance their socio- economic status.
She gave the advice at a gathering with Commissioners Wives Association held at Government house Banquet hall, Bauchi.
Hajiya Aisha Mohammed stressed the need for Women to always make feasibility Studies on the commercial needs of people in their various localities before embarking on any business venture to earn a living.
The first lady listed some lucrative businesses that women can engage in such as soya beans cake popularly known as awara, zobo drink among others to complement Government efforts in poverty reduction.
She said gone were the days when women rely heavily on their husbands to provide for the family considering the economic realities in the country.
