The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has commiserated with victims of the recent fire outbreak at Fika Market.
In a statement issued by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor,
Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni described the incident as unfortunate, noting that it occurred at a time when residents were making concerted efforts to strengthen the local economy.
According to the statement, the Governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide immediate assistance to affected traders and to conduct a comprehensive assessment of losses incurred.
Buni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining a conducive environment for economic growth and prosperity across Yobe State.
He urged the affected persons to remain resilient, expressing faith that “nothing happens to a believer without the knowledge and will of the Creator.
The Governor also called on residents to be cautious and proactive in preventing fire incidents at homes, shops, and markets to avert future occurrences.
