Governor Babagana Zulum, Deputy National Chairman APC, former minister of Communication and Digital Economy Professor Isa Pantami among hundreds of mourners at Gudu cemetery in Abuja

The Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum says the death of his late spokesperson, Malam Isa Gusau has thrown the entire state into mourning.

Governor Zulum stated this shortly the deceased was entered at Gudu cemetery in Abuja.

He prayed for the repose of his soul and expressed gratitude to all those that attended burial ceremony and sent messages of condolences.

“Inna lillahi wa Inna ilaihi raji’un, it’s a very sad moment, indeed every soul shall taste death. May Almighty Allah admit him into Jannatul Firdaus. The demise of Alhaji Isa Gusau has created a very big vacuum in the annals of Borno State, the entire people of Borno State are in grief and we pray for Almighty Allah to forgive him,” Zulum said.

Before the burial rites, the Governor led a delegation of many prominent personalities to attend the funeral prayer of his spokesperson, Malam Isa Umar Gusau, which was held at the National Mosque Abuja.

Among the delegation that attended the prayer include senators representing Borno Central and that of Borno North, members of the House of Representatives from Borno, Director General Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Group Chief Executive Officer NNPC limited, former ministers and other prominent Nigerians.

Earlier, Vice President President, Kashim Shettima, alondside Governor Zulum personally conveyed the remains of late Isa Gusau from Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport to the National Mosque in Abuja where the funeral prayer was observed.

Isa Gusau died on Thursday evening at a hospital in India after a protracted illness.

He died at the age of 47 and survived by two wives, three children, and many brothers and sisters.
