Federal Government to reinvest more resources for the implementation of critical infrastructural facilities via North East Development Commission.
Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu announced this while speaking to Journalists immediately after commissioning fertility centre and en-suite maternity ward constructed and equipped with the state of art facilities by the North East Development Commissioning at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
Uba Maigari Ahmadu explained that the equipments provided at the Centre were of international standard which its kind are very rare even in the African Continent procured to addressed an exobitant spending to pursue medical services by the residents of the North East zone.
He added that the project is one of the component of NEDC’s intervention in the health sector including many other people oriented projects at health institutions across the six States of North East region being implemented by the NEDC.
The Minister reiterated that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to implement critical projects in other sectors through North East Development Commission to ensure stabilization after recovery from more than a decade of Insurgency.
He further added that the Ministry Regional Development have expended billions of Naira at implementing vital and People centred programmes through North East Development Commission which the impact have already been fealed by the general Populace of the zone.
Governor Baba Gana Umara Zulum had at the event commended the NEDC for all its interventions in Borno State especially the MRI machine recently procured and inaugurated by the North East Development Commission at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
The commissioning of the Fertility centre and en-suite Maternity Ward was part of the Minister’s two (2) days working visit to Borno State and ended his engagements in the State with the Commissioning ceremony.
