KNSG Partner Afrinvest on Global Commercial Activities

The Kano state government says it would develop commercial activities through partnership, modernization and expansion to meet global standards.

The state Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf made the indication at the opening ceremony of the Afrinvest Kano office.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Kabiru Sa’id Magami, he explained that, KNSG intends to embrace new technological methods through partnership to modernise and enhance trade in the state.

He pointed out that, Kano was known for its commercial activities even before the advent of colonialism in Nigeria, saying that, there is no better time for investors to establish a presence in the state than now.

“There is no better time for this important decision as Kano is looking for partners like you and we are going to engage you in enhancing trade in Kano.

The emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero describes Kano as a commercial hub that is always ready to provide support for the development of the economy.

Represented by Magajin Rafin Kano Alhaji Abdulqadir Mahmud Chigari, the emir prayed that the partnership with the state government would yield positive results.

In his opening address, the Group Managing Director, GMD Afrinvest Ike Chioke stated that the group had been in Kano for a long.

He announced that it was part of the construction of the popular Ado Bayero Mall several years ago and has done several other projects for the benefit of people in Kano.

He explained that they have gone digital and are going to offer a spectrum of investments to the government and people of the state including the provision of electricity.

Others who spoke include a representative from the Nigerian Exchange Commission, Kabir Ibrahim, Bello Baba from Nasarawa LGA and HOD Agric Nasarawa Babangida Inuwa and other relevant stakeholders.
