Yobe State Geographic Information Service (YOGIS) has reported a revenue generation of N179 million from processing fees and land registration between April 2021 and April 2024.

The director-general of the agency, Dr Abdullahi Hassan Gana, made the disclosure during the commissioning of the new digital process on land administration and management at its office complex in Damaturu, the State Capital.

He said the agency is committed to global best practices in land administration and management, which has led to the procurement of grants amounting to N1.3 billion from a World Bank project.

Gana explained that the agency has implemented initiatives such as the land vendors’ registration portal, acquisition of state-of-the-art survey equipment, and the development of a 25-year Damaturu master plan.

Governor Mai Mala Buni, at the commissioning, said the new process would combat land grabbing, racketeering and fraud.

Buni directed that all land vendors must undergo registration to ensure proper records and enhance security before engaging in operations.
