Sight Savers international, Digital Bridge institute Trains 24 PWD’s on IT Skills in Kano,Lagos

Empowering Persons with Disabilities on IT Skills has been described as great move for supporting Persons with disabilities to become self employed and employers of labour .

The Executive Director Sight Savers international Dr Sunday Isyaku disclosed this during the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of IT Skills for PWD organized by Digital Bridge institute in collaboration with Sight Savers held in Kano.

He said the program was aimed at training the People living with disabilities with information technology technical skills geared towards making them to become Sisco certified so that they will be qualified as professionals on IT Skills.

He said 24 people living with disabilities were selected and trained in Kano and have completed the rigorous training ,stressing that the gesture will play a vital role in enhancing the promotion of information technology knowledge.

” Digital Bridge institute in partnership with Sight Savers international are also taking onboard another set of 25 participants in Kano and 25 in Lagos “

In a remark the Head of Digital Bridge institute Kano Campus Yakubu Mai Talata said digital bridge institute and Sigh savers international came into partnership in June 2023 to train persons with disabilities on information technology skills especially covering the Sisco Curriculum.

He noted that 24 people living with disabilities were trained under the first cohort ,while another set of 25 PWD in Kano and another 25 in Lagos are coming onboard for the second batch of the training.

Peter Boyi and Bilkisu Mohammed were among the People living with disabilities who graduated with certificate on Sisco Curriculum information technology skills,they commended Sight Savers international and Digital Bridge institute for organizing the training ,and promised to make adequate utilization of the experience they acquire during the training.
