Stakeholders calls for more enlightenment on girl child education.

Participants at a engagement and sensitization in Gombe State have called for more enlightenment towards addressing non enrollment of girls in school across the state.

The workshop organised by Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE has in attendance non governmental organizations, traditional and religious leaders among others.

The participants also decried that most of the girls in rural communities are not going to school, they therefore called on the Adolescent girls initiative for learning and empowerment to focus more attention in rural areas towards addressing school enrollment especially among girls.

On her part the State Commissioner for education Professor Aisha Umar Maigari represented by permanent secretary in the ministry Abubakar Adamu Sarki said, all hands must be on deck to ensure the success of AGILE project in the state.

Also speaking the Gombe State Agile project coordinator Dr Amina Haruna Abdul promised to implement all recommendations, made by the participants at the workshop.

Dr Amina Abdul reaffirmed commitment to organize more workshop with the aim of getting ideas and suggestions from stakeholders.
