Over 500 Women, Vulnerable People Benefit from NEDC Ramadan Food Support

Over five hundred women and vulnerable people in Gombe State have benefited from a Ramadan food support initiative.

Distributing the food items, which included rice, sugar, and spaghetti, the coordinator, Arewa Youth Advocates for Peace and Unity Initiative, Alhaji Muhammad Bose, said the food items were meant to cushion the effect of the country’s economic realities.

He said the food items were facilitated by the Director of Operations, North East Development Commission (NEDC), Alhaji Abdulsalam Ahmed and handed over to the group for onward distribution.

The coordinator of the initiative, commended Alhaji Abdulsalam Ahmed for the support despite volume of requests on his tablet and urged him to sustain the momentum for the betterment of the people of Gombe.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Adama Umar Kumo and Yakubu Muhammad from Akko and Dukku Local Government Areas expressed gratitude to the NEDC Executive Director Operations Alhaji Abdulsalam Ahmed for the humanitarian support to less privileged in the state.

While appealing for more of such assistance to the Arewa Youth Advocate for Peace and Unity Initiative, the beneficiaries called for more of such support.
