During the visit, the Commissioner emphasized the critical role of the college in promoting climate-smart agriculture amidst growing climate change challenges affecting food production.

Dr Hashim recalled the institution’s request for a greenhouse and solarization, stating that the inspection was to assess the proposed project site and their existing infrastructure.

He further assured that the greenhouse project would serve as a platform for training students on climate-smart and urban agriculture techniques, as well as a source of revenue generation for the college.

The Commissioner pledged to ensure the delivery of quality projects, saying that beneficiaries of agricultural empowerment programs from ACReSAL will be required to undergo training and certification from the institution before executing their projects.

The Commissioner also inspected one of the existing greenhouses and expressed satisfaction with its condition.

He noted that additional greenhouses would significantly enhance the college’s capacity to train more students and generate revenue.

The Provost of the College, Prof. M.A Wailare, expressed appreciation for the visit and ACReSAL’s previous interventions, including the supply of seedlings for the college’s tree planting campaign.

ACReSAL remains committed to supporting institutions that drive climate-resilient agricultural development in Kano State.
