Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Matriculates over Six thousand five hundred students for 2019/2020 academic session.

Federal Polytechnic Bauchi says it has secured approval from the National Universities Commission NUC to commence nine degree programs in affiliation with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi.
The programs are Agric snd Bio-resources engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Architecture, Building Technology, Estate Management and Valuation, as well as Quantity Surveying and Geo-Informatics.
The Rector of the Polytechnic Architect Sanusi Waziri Gumau disclosed this at the 2019/2020 Matriculation ceremony of the institution in Bauchi.
Architect Sanusi Gumau said the degree programs are in addition to Postgraduate diplomas in Engineering with the Nigerian Defence Academy NDA Kaduna.
In the area of staff welfare and development, the Rector said about 30 academic staff are currently undergoing MSc programs, fifteen PhD and over eighty have benefitted from seminars, workshops, as well as research and development packages
He said the institution awards certificates based on character and learning, hence the need for the matriculated students to stay away from cultism, indecent dressing and examination malpractice among others to guarantee their stay in the institution.
Architect Gumau further called on indigenous investors willing to go into building of hostels and shop to avail themselves the opportunity from the Federal Ministry of Education on Private Partnership Development in Nigerian Tertiary Institution.
Earlier, the Registrar of the Institution Hajiya Rakiya Usman Maleka warned the matriculated students against throwing caution on COVID 19 safety measures and protocols.
A total of 6559 students were matriculated with 920 diploma, 3125 national diploma, 2421 higher national diploma and 93 IJMB students under six schools of the Polytechnic.
