Gombe State Governor Swears in New Permanent Secretaries

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has sworn in five newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, urging them to carry out their duties with the highest ethical standards and a strong sense of responsibility.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Yahaya emphasized the crucial role of Permanent Secretaries as the backbone of the civil service and key drivers of effective policy implementation. He called on them to redouble their efforts to ensure efficiency and accountability in governance.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements over the past five years, the Governor noted significant reforms aimed at transforming the civil service, including the establishment of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms to enhance service delivery and promote excellence.

Governor Yahaya also outlined other milestones, such as clearing over ₦17 billionin gratuity obligations inherited from previous administrations, timely payment of pensions, and the implementation of the new minimum wage at the state level.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Prof. Muazu Shehu Usman expressed their commitment to achieving the state government’s policies and programs.

He also commended the Governor for prioritizing the welfare of civil servants, including timely promotions and financial benefits.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are

  1. Prof. Muazu Shehu Usman (Gombe LGA)
  2. Muhammad Bello Abubakar (Akko LGA)
  3. Muhammad Yusuf Kulani (Balanga LGA)
  4. Ahmed Saidu Guli (Dukku LGA)
  5. Alhassan Ibrahim (Yamaltu-Deba LGA).
