Commissioner of Water assured uninterrupted Water Supply in Borno

The new Commissioner Ministry of Water resources in Borno State, Engineer Tijjani Alkali Goni has reiterated his determination to work assiduously to ensure uninterrupted Water Supply in the State.

The Commissioner stated this while taking over the affairs of the Ministry from the Permanent Secretary, Mairo Bunu Lawan.

Engineer Tijjani Alkali Goni explained that portable water for human and animal consumption is what the Ministry determine to deliver and therefore solicited the support of the Staffers of the Ministry to achieve the desired objectives.

He assured that the Staff welfare will be his top most priority which he noted that will serves as morale booster and effective service delivery.

The Commissioner maintained that he would operate an opened door policy and welcome useful suggestions and ideas from the Staffs in order to move the Ministry to greater height, but warned indiscipline and nonchalant attitude.

Engineer Tijjani Alkali Goni thanked Governor Baba Gana Umara Zulum for finding him worthy of reappointment as Commissioner in his Cabinet and therefore assured to justify the confidence bestowed on him.

In her remark, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Water resources, Mairo Bunu Lawan described the Commissioner as a team Player, bridge builder and pragmatic Person who delivered in his first term as a Commissioner in the Ministry.

The Permanent Secretary assured the Commissioner of the Staff’s readiness to support him in his mandate of adequate and equitable water supply to the Borno Populace.

The General Manager Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Engineer Dr Mohammed Musa Aliyu was delighted by the reappointment and subsequent posting of Engineer Tijjani Alkali Goni to the Ministry and expressed optimism of the improved supply to nook and crannies of Borno State.
