Gombe Pilgrims Board Reviews 2025 Hajj, Sets Early Preparations for 2026 Exercise.

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has held its first sitting since the completion of the 2025 Hajj exercise, with discussions centered on successes recorded, challenges encountered, and preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.

Speaking at a press conference shortly after the meeting, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan, said the board is working to ensure timely arrangements for intending pilgrims, including the completion of Hajj payments before the official deadline set by the Saudi authorities. He warned that failure to meet the timeline could lead to the loss of Hajj slots.

He disclosed that plans are underway to secure befitting accommodation and other logistics for Gombe pilgrims Close to Makkah and Madina. According to him, the early timeline will also allow farmers to harvest and sell their produce to raise funds for the pilgrimage.

Alhaji Hassan advised intending pilgrims to make deposits only in designated bank for proper documentation and safety. He announced that the fee for the 2026 Hajj exercise is pegged at ₦8.4 million naira, but hinted that the amount could be reduced to enable more people to participate.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board and Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Abdulkadir Rashid II, alongside Islamic leaders from various sects and other stakeholders.
