Collaborative approach has been identified as a significant method of safeguarding infrastructure to ensure long-term benefits for members of the communities.
The North-East Development Commission NEDC Adamawa State Coordinator, Khalifa Lawan, made this known at an engagement with Heads of Security Agencies in Yola, Adamawa State.
The Adamawa State Coordinator of the Commission, Khalifa Lawan, said it has become imperative to work collaboratively with security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and the sustainability of developmental projects across the state.
Explaining the rationale behind the engagement with Heads of Security Agencies, Lawan noted that the need to boost the confidence of community members to safeguard both ongoing and completed projects in collaboration with security agencies cannot be overemphasized.
He added that this was the main objective of the engagement.
The Adamawa State Coordinator of the North-East Development Commission highlighted some of the Commission’s key interventions in health, education, and renewable energy.
He also revealed that the Commission is set to introduce electronic vehicles in the state to ease the cost of transportation.
The Adamawa State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Abdulmalik Bello, who spoke on behalf of the security agencies, commended the NEDC for recognizing the role of security in driving development in the state.
Bello assured the Commission of the security agencies’ commitment to creating a safe and conducive environment for sustainable growth.
The engagement with security agencies follows similar consultations recently held by the Commission with stakeholders, including media representatives and religious leaders, as part of a broader strategy to promote a sense of ownership among beneficiaries of the Commission’s interventions.
