People-Centred Governance Takes Spotlight at Adamawa Forward Summit

Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said his administration will ensure the initiation and implementation of more developmental projects and programmes before the end of his tenure.

The governor stated this during the Adamawa forward summit organised by the office of the Principal Special Assistant to the governor on social mobilisation in collaboration with Adamawa youth in politics, emerging leaders community initiative amongst others in Yola.

During the summit, with the theme: sustaining and building upon Governor Fintiri’s developmental strides for posterity through a people-powered movement, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by his principal special assistant on social mobilisation, Doctor Victor Dogo said his emergence as the governor of the state is on the people’s mandate, hence the desire to sustain all developmental strides that will move the state forward.

Fintiri who expressed gratitude to the organisers of the summit expressed optimism that it will be instrumental in guiding participants on their voting rights.

In his remarks, the guest speaker at the summit, Ishaya Inuwa Durkwa said the significance of the summit cannot be overemphasised as it came at the right time for proper planning on where Adamawa State proceeds after the end of the Fintiri-led administration.

He therefore called on the people to be serious in planning so as to move the state forward.

The convener of the submit , who is also the principal special assistant on social mobilisation to the governor, Doctor Victor Dogo hammered that it is time to look at the giant strides achieved by Governor Fintiri’s administration over the years.

He added that the summit aims to draw the minds of the people that only the best can retain and sustain governance in Adamawa state.

In their goodwill messages, representatives of CAN and Muslim Council Adamamwa state chapter Anawa Rufus Isa and Bello Umar Ahmed commended the organisers of the summit and appreciated Governor Fintiri’s efforts in the development of the state.

There were training sessions where speakers spoke on “from legacy to leadership” by Dr Victor Dogo and “what the people really want in terms of rural needs, urban realities, and a shared future” by Dr Declan Desmond Didacus.

Other speakers are Hajiya Rukaiya Suleiman Abubakar, Comrade Sam Odeh and Lydia Tsware who spoke on ‘From Progress to Prosperity, Your Vote Your Voice Your Life and Guarding the Gains.
