The Emir of Fika and Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrisa, has called on community leaders, elders, youths and other stakeholders to embrace unity as a pathway to sustainable development in Yobe State.
The royal father made the call at Kukar-Gadu town during the unveiling of the community’s development potentials, the launch of the book on the history of Kukar-Gadu, the presentation of its physical development plan, and the commissioning of the Kukar-Gadu Empowerment Development Initiative.
Alhaji Dr. Abali described Kukar-Gadu as a community with a rich heritage rooted in resilience, courage and unity, noting that the newly launched history book serves as a record of the people’s past, honouring their ancestors, traditions and identity.
He explained that the Kukar-Gadu physical development plan is a visionary blueprint aimed at guiding growth, improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life of residents through inclusive and sustainable development.
The Emir stressed the need for collaboration among government agencies, private stakeholders and community members to ensure effective implementation of the plan, adding that such partnership would translate the vision into tangible economic growth and social progress.
On the empowerment initiative, the Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers said the programme is designed to equip youths and women with relevant skills and resources to thrive in a changing world, describing human capital as the community’s greatest asset.
He expressed optimism that the initiative would promote economic sustainability and help build a prosperous future for Kukar-Gadu and its people.
