Governor Babagana Zulum has assured the people of Borno State that all ongoing projects undertaken by his administration will be delivered within record time.
He identified security, the resettlement of displaced persons, reconstruction, and social protection as the key priorities for 2026.
Presiding over the first State Executive Council (SEC) meeting of the year at the Government House in Maiduguri, Governor Zulum emphasized that the protection of lives and property remains central to his administration’s agenda.
The Governor pledged increased investment to address the humanitarian challenges resulting from the insurgency. This includes the accelerated resettlement and rehabilitation of victims of Boko Haram, noting that reconstruction and social protection programmes would be intensified to support affected communities.
Governor Zulum also seized the opportunity to commend journalists for their professional reportage and consistent support of the state’s recovery efforts. He thanked members of the press for their contributions toward the rebuilding of Borno State.
Earlier in an introductory remarks the Secretary to the Borno State Government Dr Bukar Tijjani reviewed key achievements from the previous year and outlined strategic priorities for 2026, with a specific focus on security, social welfare, and the completion of critical infrastructure.
The meeting, which reviewed past achievements, later went into a closed-door session to finalize strategic plans for the year.
