USAID State2State Activity Supports Adamawa Govt Prepare 2025 – 2027 EFU-FST-BPS

Stakeholders from Adamawa State, have converged on Bauchi for a two-day workshop for the Preparation of 2025-2027 State’s Economic and Fiscal Update (EFU), Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) and Budget Policy Statement (BPS).

The objective of the intervention is to support the state to estimate its three-year aggregate resources from all sources and document medium term budget estimates for individual spending agencies based on each of the state’s strategic priorities.

The Workshop is being supported by the USAID funded State Accountability, Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity, Adamawa Field Office.

The State Team Lead (STL), State2State Activity, Adamawa Field Office, Ms Suzanne Myada said the participants are expected to ensure that their resolutions were done in a consistent manner and in line with the state’s overall fiscal objectives, with a view to producing realistic, credible and policy-driven 2025 budget.

Ms Suzanne Myada said the linkage between policy, planning and budgeting is one of the most important factors contributing to optimal budgeting outcomes at the macro, strategic and operational levels in Nigeria, at the federal, states and local governments.

Interviewed on the sidelines of the workshop, the Director of Budget, Adamawa state ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Iliya Tumba Danyaro assured commitment that it was expected at the end of the day, the state would have a realistic budget template that would translate to its overall development.

Mr Iliya Danyaro, who said their deliberations would serve as a roadmap for the state to work with, called on the participants to offer valid contributions towards achieving the set objectives.

Radio Nigeria learned that, this is the fourth time USAID funded State2State Activity is supporting Adamawa State government to develop of EFU-FSP-BPS.
