State2State Conducts Orientation For Bauchi LGAs, CSOs On CCD

Local Government Areas and Civil Society Organizations in Bauchi state are undergoing an orientation aimed at enhancing participants’ knowledge, understanding and skills on the use of Community Chater of Demand (CCD) instrument as part of an all-inclusive LGA budget process.

The two-day orientation is being supported by the USAID funded State Accountability, Transparency and Effectiveness State2State Activity, Bauchi Field Office.

It seeks to identify likely issues/challenges and make recommendations for effective adoption, utilization and institutionalization of the use of the CCD in LGA budget process and tracking of citizens’ projects in the state.

Earlier, the State Team Lead, State2State Activity, Bauchi Field Office, Mrs Rabi Ekere called on the participants to offer fruitful contributions that would help in improving the status quo of budgeting process to a more inclusive and realistic one.

Mrs Rabi Ekele, represented by Mr Habila Salem who noted the improvement recorded by the Bauchi State government in terms of Internally Generated Revenue from ₦20 billion to ₦30 billion annually emphasized the need for taking ownership of all the USAID State2State interventions rendered to the state to ensure global best practice.

The Citizens’ Engagement and Capacity Building Specialist State2State Activity, Mr Habila Salem said at the end of the engagement the participants were expected to develop action plan for the adoption, institutionalization of CCD template in 2025 LGA budget process and review implementation of action plan for tracking CCD projects across the state.
