The Jigawa ACReSAL project, in collaboration with the non-governmental organisation PADAC Foundation, has launched a sensitisation campaign targeting an additional 60 communities.
Speaking on the initiative, the State Project Coordinator, Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Uba, expressed optimism about the positive impact of the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) programme.
He emphasised that the exercise is an ongoing process and assured that due process would be followed to establish viable Community Interest Groups (CIGs).

As part of the sensitisation efforts, existing CIGs have been mapped out, while the formation of new ones is in progress.
He disclosed that the selection of community business agents has been completed, and boards of trustees have been constituted in each of the 60 newly selected communities.
Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Uba stated that the selected community leaders are expected to collaborate closely with the focal NGO, PADAC Foundation, and the project team to enhance awareness and mobilisation efforts, ensuring that community members understand the different stages of the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) programme.
Also speaking, the Community Revolving Fund Desk Officer reiterated that the CRF facility is a loan and not a grant, stressing that the sustainability of the programme depends on timely repayment.
Radio Nigeria reports that during the pilot phase in 2024, 10 communities benefited from the CRF programme.
With the completion of the sensitization exercise, 60 additional communities are set to participate, bringing the total number of benefiting communities across the state’s 27 local government areas to 70.
