Students Compete in Kano Assembly NILDS Schools Quiz Competition

The Kano house of Assembly, in collaboration with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), organized a two-day secondary schools quiz competition on Legislature and Democracy.

While presenting the keynote address, the speaker Kano State House of Assembly Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore represented by the chairman of the House Committee on Education Alhaji Sulaiman Mukhtar Ishak noted that the assembly played significant roles in enhancing the educational standards, including the approval of the highest percentage allocated to the education sector in the 2024 budget.

In a press statement issued by Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai the Spokesperson to the Speaker, Sulaiman Mukhtar representing the Madobi constituency, further expressed that the 10th Assembly will continue to work hand in hand with NILDS to ensure the successful realization of legislative responsibilities.

Representative of the Commissioner of Education, the Director of School Educational Services, Hajiya Halima Abubakar highlighted the contributions of the Kano State Ministry of Education, especially in the areas of renovating dilapidated schools across the state.

The Director General of NILDS, represented by Ali Abdallah, stated that this event was the third edition in consecutive years.

“As NILDS, we reiterate our commitment to continue supporting secondary school quiz competitions on Legislature and Democracy for the betterment of our youth”

The secondary schools that participated in the quiz competition on Legislature and Democracy include Rumfa College, GSS Bichi, Kano Capital, GSS Rano, GSS Gwarzo, and GSS Kura.
