The Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) is taking a significant step to enhance healthcare services in the state, by increasing the monthly capitation to healthcare facilities.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Babagana Tijjani, announced this in Damaturu, the state capital.
Dr Tijjani said the move is a result of the agency’s engagement with stakeholders, who highlighted the challenges faced by healthcare facilities in providing adequate services due to financial constraints.
To address the challenges, the Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved an increase in the contribution amount from each enrollee, ensuring they have access to a standard healthcare system.
The Executive Secretary explained that the Healthcare facilities will now receive more funds to provide better services, including access to free drugs and treatment.
He also encouraged the informal sector to enrol in the contributory agency, making it easier for them to access efficient healthcare services.
The Executive Secretary pointed out that providing more funds to healthcare facilities will help the agency improve health outcomes and reduce the burden of healthcare costs on citizens.
He further demonstrates the agency’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Yobe State.
In a remark, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr Mohammed Lawan Gana, commended the agency on its giant stride in delivering the mandate of Governor Buni’s administration in providing a standard healthcare system to all the health facilities across the state.
