Gombe State Bolsters Security with Defence, Development, and Dialogue Approach

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity through a strategic three-pronged approach, Defence, Development, and Dialogue.

Speaking at the opening of the Gombe State Second Security Summit, at the Gombe International Conference Centre, the Governor highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen security in the state.

He emphasized that his government has heavily invested in equipping security agencies by providing operational vehicles, and other critical support, including initiatives like GOSTEC, and *Operation Hattara,, to enhance their effectiveness.

On Development, Governor Yahaya noted that his administration is addressing the root causes of insecurity by investing in nfrastructure, basic services, and human capital development.

. He stressed that economic empowerment and improved living conditions contribute significantly to reducing crime and unrest.

Regarding Dialogue, the Governor explained that his government prioritizes, proactive engagement with stakeholders. Regular meetings with ,community leaders, security agencies, and other critical groups help in the early detection and prevention of security threats.

As part of his commitment to ensuring safety, the Governor announced the donation of 50 operational vehicles, to security agencies operating in the state.

In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Jos, Major General E. F. Oyinlola, commended Gombe State’s proactive security measures.

He praised the state for being ranked among the safest and most peaceful in Nigeria, attributing its success to a well-structured security strategy.

The summit provided a platform for discussions on enhancing security measures and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders to sustain peace and stability in the state.
