Bauchi NLC accuses Govt for implementing policies that subjected people to hardship.

The Organised Labour in Bauchi State has joint its counterpart nationwide peaceful protest over the removal of fuel subsidy.

The Organised Labour in the state accused the president for implementing policies that subject people especially the masses into untold hardship.

The members who carry placards with different inscriptions like Enough is Enough, Repair our Refinaries Before Removal of the Subsidy among others commenced the procession from Nigeria Labour Congress NLC House along Railway Road to Bauchi Emirs palace and terminated at the state Secretariat.

Speaking to newsmen the state NLC Chairman Comrade Dauda Shuaibu called on the federal government to implement the agreement signed with the Organised Labour that include the immediate reversal of the recent increase of fuel pump price as well as release of eight months salary of universities lectures among others.

Comrade Dauda Shuaibu insisted that failure of the government to meet the demands the labour would have no other option than embarking on nationwide strike.

Also speaking the state Chairman Trade Union Congress TUC Comrade Sabiu Barau said the union would continue with the struggle until their demands are made.

Responding on behalf of Governor Bala Muhammad, the state Head of Civil Service Alhaji Yahuza Adamu Haruna said government is aware of the difficult situations as a result of the removal of the fuel subsidy.

Governor Bala Muhammad explained that the state government would soon start distribution of palliatives to people as part effort to cushion the hardship being faced as result of removal of the fuel subsidy.
