Bauchi State To Inaugurate 3 Billion Naira Rural Road Project Next Week

Bauchi State Executive Council presided over by Governor Bala Mohammed has approved the construction of rural road linking communities from Liman Katagum, Luda, Lakka and Gwallaga in Bauchi Local Government Area.

The over three billion naira project is to be executed under Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project RAAMP, a World Bank supported programme.

Briefing Journalists after the council meeting, the State commissioner Ministry of Rural Development and Special Duties Faruq Mustapha said arrangements have been concluded for the inauguration of the project next week.

The Council has also confirmed the receipt two billion naira from the initial approval of five billion naira parlliative from the federal government as part of measures to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.

The commissioner of Finance and Economic Development Yakubu Adamu informed government house correspondents that the inability to access the remaining balance at the moment would not affect the plan to commence distribution of the parlliative in good time.

Also during it meeting, the council has ratified on a Memo presented by the commissioner of education Dr. Jamila Dahiru seeking to review the State Education Law 1964 to allow for engagement of consultants that would support academic activities in the ministry.
