Stakeholders set to review 2023 HAJJ Policies and Operations.

Hajj Affairs Stakeholders are to converge on Abuja for the review of policies, programmes and administration of Hajj and Umrah operations in the country.

This is contained in a statement by the National Coordinator of Independent Hajj Reporters IHR, Ibrahim Mohammed and made available to Radio Nigeria.

The statement says the review is part of IHR’s Annual Public Lecture and Awards ceremony which slated for September 21, 2023 at the auditorium of the National Mosque Abuja.

It says the event, which holds between 10am to 1pm will have the immediate past Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada as Chairman of the occasion.

According to the statement, this year’s lecture will dwell on Hajj and Umrah policies and its impact on successful Hajj operations, with the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Zikirullah Kunle Hassan as Chief Host of the event.

“IHR will also be honouring Hajj institutions, officials and Tour operators who stood out in terms of hajj activities throughout the 2023 hajj season. Such services include effective education and enlightenment of intending pilgrims as well as service provision to the pilgrims during this year’s Hajj exercise,” the statement said.

It further discloses that a veteran journalist, academic and administrator from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor Ismaila Shehu will deliver the public lecture on the existing policies around Hajj administration Vis a Vis the roles of officials and how they impact on successive Hajj operations.

According to the IHR Coordinator, the event will also give special recognition to some governors who did extremely well for their States Muslim Pilgrims Boards and hajj pilgrims, with an award for Hajj Governor of the year.
