NLNG Hands Over Multimillion Naira Laboratory Complex to ATBUTH

Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG Limited, has constructed and equipped a multimillion naira laboratory complex at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH Bauchi, under its Hospital Support Programme.

Flagging off the facility, NLNG Managing Director, Dr Philip Mshelbila, said the company remained committed to saving lives, hoping the gesture would enhance healthcare delivery to the people.

The project followed a detailed needs assessment aimed at strengthening the hospital’s diagnostic capacity to provide improved support to both clinicians and patients across various departments.

Represented by General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, Ms Sophia Horsfall, Dr Mshelbila stated that although NLNG operates in the Niger Delta region, it supports all six geopolitical zones of the country.

He added that similar projects were ongoing across Nigeria to boost health infrastructure, hopping that other organisations to contribute towards building a healthier and safer nation for all citizens.

Receiving the facility, Chief Medical Director, ATBUTH Dr Jibril Yusuf Bara, thanked NLNG for the support, noting the edifice would boost clinical services, research and training.

Dr Jibril Bara also assured that the laboratory would serve as a training ground for Resident Doctors, medical students and other healthcare professionals undergoing laboratory training at the hospital.

Highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the laboratory complex and a colourful cultural performance by the Bauchi State Troupe to entertain dignitaries and other attendees.
