Governor Babagana Zulum has called for the immediate deployment of newly trained Forest Guards to complement the military in safeguarding vulnerable communities.

The governor made the call during a visit to Darajamal, a recently resettled community in Bama Local Government Area of the state, to commiserate with residents over insurgency attacks that claimed the lives of fifty-eight civilians and five soldiers.

The Governor stated that the numerical strength of the military is not enough to cover the whole state; hence, he urged the deployment of Forest Guards to the most vulnerable locations to protect communities still facing threats of insecurity.

Governor Zulum condemned the brutal attacks and expressed grief over the incidents, which, according to him, happened when the state is witnessing a gradual return of peace. He condoled with the bereaved families and community leaders over the unfortunate attacks.

Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, representing Borno Central, the constituency in which Darajamal is located, has also condemned the attack, describing it as a crime against humanity.

He expressed his commitment to supporting Governor Babagana Umara Zulum through legislative backing to restore peace in Borno State.
