Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has sworn in new appointees to key positions in his administration, charging them to work hard and bring fresh ideas to facilitate effective service delivery.
The new appointees include: Yerima Lawan Mahmud as Commissioner for Livestock Development, Abdullahi Musa Shehu as Head of Service, Mohammed Bukar Ibrahim (Abbati) and Yahaya Inuwa Barde as Special Advisers, and Abdulrahman Malik as Statistician General.
During the swearing-in ceremony, held in Damaturu, Governor Buni emphasised the importance of the new Ministry of Livestock Development in boosting livestock production and economic growth in the state.
He assured livestock farmers of investments in veterinary clinics, water provision, fodder banks, and vaccination programmes to exploit the rich livestock potential and make Yobe State, Nigeria’s leading livestock production state.
The Governor charged the new Commissioner for Livestock Development to work hard to attain the objectives of creating the ministry and make it a success story.
He also tasked the Head of Service to galvanise the civil service, promote hard work, and champion transparency and due process.
Governor Buni urged the Special Advisers to use their connections with the grassroots to project the people’s interests and improve their lives.
He also charged the Statistician General to provide scientifically verifiable figures to support government policies and programmes.
The Governor reassured the new appointees that the administration would continue to equip and reposition the public service to be more responsive to the people’s demands for speedy and effective implementation of policies and programmes.
Buni further called on the people of Yobe State to support and pray for the state and federal government for a united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.
