Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rebuilding the state through a comprehensive, multi-sectoral recovery strategy following years of Boko Haram insurgency.
The governor made this known while addressing members of the press and other stakeholders during a tour of key projects across the state, aimed at showcasing government achievements and the prevailing peace in Yobe.
Governor Buni thanked the visiting journalists for coming to the state to witness firsthand the modest achievements recorded so far, noting that their visit also provided an opportunity to assess the improved security situation.
He recalled that Yobe was among the states worst affected by the Boko Haram insurgency, stressing that more than a decade of conflict necessitated a holistic approach to recovery.
“After over ten years of insurgency, recovery must be multi-sectoral. That is why we have deliberately given attention to all sectors of development,” the governor said.
Governor Buni noted that areas which were once under the control of insurgents have now been reclaimed and are enjoying lasting peace, describing the transformation as a clear indication of progress.
He assured that his administration remains focused on upgrading and transforming communities across the state, restoring development to the people, and ensuring value for money in the execution of all projects.
The governor reiterated his determination to consolidate peace and sustain development efforts in order to improve the living standards of the people of Yobe State.
