The emergence of Saadatu Rimi University of Education in Kano is set to revolutionize the education sector in the state and beyond.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Yahaya Isa Bunkure, the university is poised to address the deficit of qualified teachers in senior secondary schools.

In an interview with journalists, Professor Bunkure revealed that the university has made significant strides in producing qualified teachers, with over 116 lecturers holding Ph.D. degrees and close to 500 with Master’s degrees.

At the Moment the University is witnessing great achievement interms of Qualified Academic Staff that are Manning the affairs of teaching and learning in this University, so far so good,our staff are always attending workshops and conferences within the country and abroad”

He emphasized the university’s commitment to staff development, with numerous conferences and workshops attended by staff both locally and internationally.

” Currently we have over one hundred and sixteen lecturers with PHD,and close to five hundred lecturers with Masters degrees and we are always encouraging both the Academic and non academic staff to update their knowledge and we always ready to support them’

The university has established a center for final-year students to learn skills and traits, ensuring self-reliance after graduation.

A memorandum of understanding with an Egyptian university has also been signed, promoting cultural exchange and academic collaboration.

Professor Bunkure commended the Kano State Government for allocating 30% of the 2024 budget to education, a move that will significantly impact the development of the sector.

With the support of the government and TETFUND intervention, Saadatu Rimi University of Education is poised to become a beacon of academic excellence in the region.
