NYSC COORDINATOR CHARGES STAKEHOLDERS ON OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE.

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has called on all Stakeholders and Employers of Labour to give priority attention to the Corps Members in their domain to enable them to render services in a maximum capacity.

The Gombe State NYSC Coordinator Mr Dawut Jidda stated this during the tour of major Stakeholders and Corps Employers in Funakaye’s local government area of Gombe State.

He described the Corps Members as very young, vibrant, and talented youth who deserve guidance and counselling to transform their ideologies into practicable solutions for the growth and development of their host communities.

Jidda also outlined the responsibilities of the Stakeholders and Corps Employers to the Corps Members, pledging to ensure the posting of Corps Members to nooks and crannies of the State.

While at the Funakaye Emirate Council, the Emir of Funakaye, HRH Alhaji Yakubu Mohammed Kwairanga, described the NYSC Scheme as a viable tool with the intellectual capacity to bring about the desired socio-economic growth and development of the nation.

Meanwhile, the Caretaker Chairman of the local government, Ibrahim Adamu Cheldu who was represented by the Secretary to the Council, Saidu Abubakar narrated their journey on the security and welfare of Corps Members so far, highlighted the challenges hindering optimal results and assured of an upward review of their responsibility to Corps Members.

On the other hand, the Plant Manager, Ashakacem, Engineer Adamu Muhammad revealed their corporate responsibility to the NYSC especially in terms of tutelage in the exposure of Corps Members to industrial life, discipline, trade, health, and safety value to do more.

Addressing Corps Members at the Corps lodges in all the locations visited, the Coordinator implored them to take responsibility and carry out their assignments judiciously.

He also, dwelt on accountability, personal/group CDS projects, proper dress code, sanctions on Bye-laws’ falls out, unauthorized journeys, and application of due process in all official proceedings.

Assistant Director, of Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr. Bala Mohammed Baba, Zonal Inspector, Mr. Idris Kakaba, and the Local Government Inspector Funakaye LGA, Mr. Dashiu Wasinda accompanied the Coordinator on the tour.
