Bauchi State Government has called for active collaboration with the State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC towards mitigating the incessant accidents and road traffic violation.

The State Governor Bala Mohammed made the call while granting audience to the newly posted Bauchi State Sector Commander Patrick Ikaba at Government House Bauchi.

Governor Bala Mohammed who expressed worry over the spate of accidents in some highways across the state said the collaboration would enhance operations of the State Road Traffic Management Agency BAROTA towards ensuring safety of road users.

According to the Governor under the arrangements, personnel of the FRSC would actively work with BAROTA in controlling illegal business operations which often caused difficulties to commuters passing through some busiest weekly markets across the state.

He therefore assured of the state government’s commitment to provide all the needed supports that would facilitate smooth running of their activities.

Earlier the Sector Commander Patrick Ikaba who said he was at the government house for familiarization visit informed the Governor that already the Corps has introduced new operations aimed at decongesting markets and some busy areas.

The governor has also granted audience to Officers of Nigeria Air Force NAF led by the Officer Commanding the Special Operation Command Bauchi Air Vice Marshal Eneobong Effiom where he emphasizes the need to intensify security surveillance around communities being affected by activities of criminals.

He identified the affected local governments to include Ningi, Toro, Alkaleri and some parts of Tafawa Balewa.
