BAUCHI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CALLS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGE IN AZARE MARKET.

Bauchi State House of Assembly has adopted motion calling on the executive arm of government to construct drainage system at the Abubakar Tatari Ali Modern Market Azare in Katagum local government.

The motion moved by member representing Azare Madangala, Zakariyya Saleh during the plenary presided over by the Speaker Abubakar Sulaiman.

Zakariyya Saleh said the market experiences flooding annually due to the absence of a good drainage system which exposes its substantial risks during every rainy season.

The lawmaker also explained that the market is in danger as the rain entered shops and traders are losing goods worth millions of naira to the flood every year hence the need for the government to come to their aid in that direction.

Still during the plenary the house urged government to construct a thirty kilometre feeder road from Gadon Maiwa in Ningi local government through Filin Shagari to Kafin Madaki town of Ganjuwa local government area.

Similarly, the house request government to consider the pathetic situation of people along the areas of Ajili, Belen Fulani to Kaftara road in Chiroma constituency of Misau local government area.

This squealed to motions moved by members representing Ganjuwa west Adamu Garba Kawu and his counterpart from Chiroma constituency of Misau local government Yahaya Ahmad Maikudi.

The lawmakers said the roads if constructed would boost social and economic activities across the states and beyond as well as to ease accessibility problems and link up the areas with larger markets for an improved local economy.
