Gombe state govt approves 10,000 naira increment as palliative for workers

In an effort to mitigate the effect of the fuel subsidy removal in the country, Gombe state government has assured to commence the payment of Ten Thousand naira monthly intervention to civil servants in the state.

In a Press briefing the State Deputy Governor who doubles as the chairman Palliative Distribution Committee, Dr Manasah Daniel Jatau, gave the assuarance, in his office.

The Committee Chairman confirmed that, the payment of Ten Thousand naira per month intervention would take effect from the month of August 2023.

According to him the Ten Thousand naira palliative would include both state and local government civil servants in the state.

Dr Mannasah told the journalist at the briefing that recently the state government has distributed palliatives to about Two Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-Eight polling units across the state, where Eight Hundred Eighty households benefitted from it.

Also, the Deputy Governor reminded local government staff to enroll in the mandatory Go health scheme.

While appreciating both the state and local government civil servants for their contribution despite the hardship experienced as a result of petroleum subsidy removal, Dr. Mannasah, therefore, urged civil servants and Gombe state citizens to remain law abiding and support the government in delivering dividends of democracy in the state.
