Yobe State Government, UNICEF to Enroll 7,000 Vulnerable Persons in Healthcare Scheme

Yobe State Contributory Health Care Management Agency, YSCHMA, in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, targeted to enrollment up to seven thousand, 7000, vulnerable populations in the State.
The State Commissioner of Health and Human Services Dr Mohammed Lawan Gana, stated this at the engagement meeting on UNICEF support to expand population coverage in two zero-dose local government areas of Geidam and Gulani held in Olive Petal Hotel Damaturu.
He said the support is a full complement to the healthcare services, and added that all beneficiaries are going to receive health services for free at the primary healthcare centres.
Earlier speaking, the Executive Secretary of Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, YSCHMA, Dr Babagana Tijjani explained that the partnership between YSCHMA and UNICEF is aimed at enrolling vulnerable populations in Geidam and Gulani into YSCHMA.
He further commended UNICEF and other development partners for supporting the state.
The UNICEF representative in the state Fatima Mohammed has assured the organization’s commitment to continue to partner with the Yobe State Government to achieve universal health coverage.
