Gombe Govt Transports Exchange Students To Various States

In an effort to mitigate the economic hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal, Gombe State Government has transported a number of indigent students to the nineteenth northern states for the School Exchange Programme.
Addressing the students before departure, the Director Students’ Exchange Programme in the Gombe State Ministry of Education, Malam Audu Garba advised the students to be of good moral behavior while in their respective states of study.
He noted that “the School’ Exchange Programme provide students from the state and Northern Nigeria as a whole the opportunity to not only attain academic excellence but to cross-fertilize ideas, cultures, cuisine, and above all, unity of purpose”.
Audu Garba commended the present administration in the state for shouldering the responsibility of transporting the students to various states across Northern Nigeria.
The Director explained that “the gesture has relieved parents of the burden of transporting their children for the School Exchange Programme”.
In a remark, the Sole Administrator of Gombe State Transport Service, also known as Gombe Line, Comrade Sani Sabo, explained that the drivers of the company had been given an orientation on how to maintain decorum and respect for the students while the journey lasted.
Speaking on behalf of the students’ parents, Hajiya Fatima Bappa Yaya, thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for demonstrating leadership at a time when more people are in dire need of help.
She charged the students to justify the State Government’s gesture through dedicating themselves in their academic pursuit and being good ambassadors of the state.
