Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has urged reporters covering its activities to uphold fairness and objectivity in their reportage of Hajj operations and related matters.
Executive Secretary of the Board, Malam Abdurahman Ibrahim Idris, made the appeal while presenting letters of appreciation to reporters recognised for their dedication and professional commitment.
He emphasised the critical role of journalists in shaping public opinion, urging them to verify and scrutinise all information before publication to avoid misrepresentation of facts.
Malam Abdurahman appreciated the forum for its contributions during the 2025 Hajj exercise, pledging that the board would continue supporting journalists with relevant information.
Speaking on behalf of the reporters, Bature Bala Malumfashi of NTA Bauchi thanked the board for the recognition and assured improved commitment to duty.
Those honoured included Aminu Gambo Adamu and Kabiru Abubakar of Radio Nigeria Globe FM Bauchi, alongside other journalists who diligently covered the Hajj operations.
