Bauchi State Government Establishes New Trade Centre

Bauchi State government has established a new trade centre, Bauchi State Trade Facilitation Centre with view to enhance trade activities in the state.

Inaugurating the Stakeholders Forum of the Centre,the State Commossioner of Commerce, Trade and Investment, Mahmud Baba Maaji Abubakar said that Governor Bala Muhammad has already released five million naira for the purchase of internet facilities for the Centre.

Mahmud Baba Maaji Abubakar explained that the facilities will help in linking the centre with the International Trade Centres for the development of the state’s economy.

Mahmud Baba Maaji called on relevant stakeholders to work hand in hand as government alone cannot achieve the desired objectives.
In a welcome address, the State Coordinator of the Centre, Bala Mahmud Abubakar explained that the centre which is the first of its kind in Nigeria was aimed at developing entrepreneurship in the state.

Bala Mahmud Abubakar said already efforts are on to ensure proper mobilization of the trade activities across the state to attract foreign and domestic investors.

He said local offices will be established in the twenty local governments areas of the state to improve revenue generation of the state and the country at large.

In their seperate remarks, the represebtatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN Aminu Haruna, Standard Organization of Nigeria SON Muhammad Muhammad,and Nigerian Custom Service Bauchi Office, Nasiru Ahmad who expressed delight for the development promised to synergize with the centre for imrpoved economic activities in the state.

The event had in attendance the representatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp NSCDC,Central Bank of Nigera CBN, Smell and Medium
Enterprises among others.
