KNHA Organizes Retreat for Lawmakers and Management Staff

The Kano state government (KNSG), has commended Kano state house of assembly (KNHA),for it’s dedication and hardwork in moving the state forward.

The state governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf made the commendation while declaring open a three day retreat for members of KNHA and management staff of the assembly.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, further stressed that, the executive arm of government would continue to collaborate with the state house of assembly, in all matters related to the development of the State, in accordance with constitutional provisions.

Comrade Aminu called on the legislators, to expedite action on the speedy passage of the 2024 proposed appropriation bill, submitted by the executive, to pave way for the execution of government policies and programs ,aimed at uplifting the state to international standard.

He charged members and management staff of the state house of assembly, to use the knowledge gained from the retreat judiciously.

In his remarks, the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ismail Jibril Falgore,reaffirmed KNHAs commitment in supporting the state government by passing laws, that would positively improve the living standard and socio economic well being, of Kano citizens.

He assured KNSG, that the house would do everything possible for the speedy passage of the 2024 budget,to enable the State government to continue embarking on developmental projects,policies and programs.

Alhaji Isma’il, charged participants to maintain high level of concentration, to benefit from the presentations that would enable them, discharge their constitutional duties effectively.

He thanked the state government under the leadership of Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf ,for sponsoring the retreat, which he described as a major catalyst that would strengthen the roles of the legislators, for optimum outputs.

The retreat themed “Enhancing good governance through effective law makings and oversights” was attended by the 40 lawmakers from Kano state house of assembly, management staff of the assembly service commission,top government functionaries and other relevant stakeholders.
