Supreme Court Reserves Judgement on Bauchi Guber Election.

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reserved for judgement the case between the Bauchi State Candidate of All Progressives Congress APC Retired Air Marshal Sadeeq Baba Abubakar and the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed.

Retired Air Marshal Sadeeq Abubakar and his party are demanding for the Apex court to set aside the recent judgment by an appeal court which upheld the election of Governor Bala Mohammed.

Presenting his brief during the court’s sitting senior counsel to APC and it’s Candidate Argued that the appellate court overlooked some fundamental issues raised by his client including alleged noncompliance with electoral act in the election processes

On his part, counsel to the dependant Mr. Chris Uche SAN urged the Apex Court to upheld the appellant’s decision arguing that th verdict was in line with section 148 and 135 of the electoral act.

After listening to the submissions, the Five-man panel led by John Inyang Okoro said date for the judgement would be communicated to all the parties involved in due course.

Meanwhile Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State says he is optimistic that the Apex court would deliver judgement in his favour.

Bala Mohammed who gave the indication while interacting with journalists shortly after the court session called on his support to remain law abiding.
