The vice chancellor Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano (YUMSUK), Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa says, preparations have reached advanced stage, for the commencement of online degrees at the institute.

Professor Mukhtar, made the indication during a working visit to Kano state polytechnic.

According to the vice chancellor, introduction of distantance learning, would motivate those willing to study, but don’t have the time to enroll at YUMSUK, due to distance and other commitments, to do so at their convenience.

He explained that, online courses offers students the ability to engage in other entrepreneurship skills and study with ease.

Professor Mukhtar noted that, the university would give all the necessary assistance, to Kano state polytechnic for collaboration, that would enhance educational development.

The rector, Kano state polytechnic Dr. Abubakar Umar highlighted that, the polytechnic offers national diploma, higher national diploma and post graduate diploma, to the teeming populace.

He stressed that, students of the college, that graduated with post graduate diplomas, can proceed to Yusuf Maitama Sule University for masters degree.

Dr. Abubakar emphasized the importance of good rapport between the institutions, particularly in the area of educational development, and highlighted the significance of skills acquisition, as a vital tool for societal development.

The rector pointed out that, the polytechnic provides students with the necessary skills and training, to make them self reliant without white collar jobs.

Acknowledging the challenges, he pledged to work towards making the polytechnic, one of the best in the state and country in general.

Dr.Abubakar appealed to the public, to rededicate themselves to learning vocational and entrepreneurship skills, to reduce poverty, unemployment and move the nation forward.
