Governor Yusuf Settle 50% Registration Fees for 1,740 Maiden Matriculated Sa’adatu Rimi University Students – Commissioner

The Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has settled 50% Registration Fees for 1,740 Newly Admitted Matriculated Students of Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education Kano.

The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Kofar mata disclosed this during the Maiden Matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted Students Held at the University in Kano.

Kofar Mata explained that the settlements of the admission and registration fees of the Students was done to everybody without regards to Political Party affiliation.

He noted that the Government has in it’s magnanimity resolved to shelved 50 percent of the total School Fees of the State Secondary and Tertiary Institution’s, saying the objectives of the gesture was to to allowed the downtrodden vulnerable Children of the Masses acquired the desired Education.

He said the Government has in this year 2024 Budgetary allocation, allocated 30 percent to Education the first of it’s kind,stressing that all these moves were guided by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commitment to ensure that Education earned significant importance.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, said Government of the State means well for education because the benefits they are receiving from it.

He Commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, unshakable commitment to the advancement of education in the state, adding that his dedication to improving the educational landscape and providing opportunities for the youth is truly commendable.

The Vice Chancellor reflected on the remarkable strides the Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education has made in the pursuit of academic excellence.

“under my stewardship we have been able to Implement extensive programs for staff development to improve their skills and knowledge, resulting in enhanced teaching and research capabilities.”

He noted that this was achieved by sponsoring over 1000 personnel to attend both local and international conferences and pursue advanced degrees, Established various initiatives to improve the well-being of staff and students, including setting up a clinic, offering counseling services, organizing sports programs, and providing other opportunities to support the welfare and academic success of the university community.

He added that the development of modern and sustainable facilities for teaching and learning, including state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and libraries, to create an environment conducive to academic excellence, were all part his achievements.

“We Fostered a culture of research and innovation by providing resources and support for university staff to engage in impactful research projects and academic pursuits, our institution has consistently upheld the highest standards of education, research, and community engagement, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and scholars which would be achieved through the Vision and Mission of the University”,

“We are also inspired by the passion for education demonstrated by our esteemed Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusif, whose vision for a more educated and empowered society resonates deeply with the mission of our university.”

Professor Bunkure hints that the 1740 students being matriculated were embarking on a journey filled with promise and potential.

Although the time between today’s ceremony and their eventual graduation may seem long, it is actually a brief period offering numerous opportunities for learning, exploration, and personal achievement.

” It is crucial for you to recognize the significance of this moment and understand that your time at the university is a valuable and formative period in your lives. I urge you to approach your studies with diligence, determination, and a steadfast commitment to success.”

In another development the Vice Chancellor of the Saadatu Rimi University Professor Isa Bunkure was awarded Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Physics (FNIP).

The prestigious award according to the Institution’s Management was in recognition of remarkable contributions to the field of Physics and his steadfast
dedication to advancing research and
education with excellence.

The Fellowship accordingly was well
earned acknowledgment his
exceptional accomplishments and
significant influence in the field.
