FG Inaugurates 500-UNIT Renewed Hope City In Kano

The federal government has reassured it’s determination of providing decent and befitting Accommodation to the General Populace .

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa disclosed this during the Ground Braking of 500-Unit of Housing under the Renewed Hope City program,held at Lambu Village ,Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

Arc. Dangiwa explained that the Renewed Hope City in Kano will feature 100 units of 1-bedroom semi-detached bungalows, 300 units of 2-bedroom semi-detached bungalows, and 100 units of 3-bedroom semi-detached bungalows.

“These homes are designed with affordability and future expansion in mind, allowing homeowners to enlarge their living spaces as their incomes improve.”

The Minister emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards and timely completion.

He highlighted various purchase options created to make home ownership accessible, including single-digit mortgage loans with up to 30-year terms, Rent-to-Own schemes, and outright purchase options.

“This project is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s broader vision under the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates project, which began with a 3,112-unit project in Karsana, Abuja.”

“Phase One aims to deliver 50,000 housing units across Nigeria, creating substantial economic impact and job opportunities. “

The Minister noted that the Construction of the 500 housing units is expected to generate over 12,500 jobs, highlighting the substantial value chain effects and positive economic impact of housing development.

“Nationwide, we currently have estates in 12 States and Cities .

The estates are sited in Katsina, Yobe, Gombe, Abia, Nasarawa, Benue, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Sokoto, Oyo, and Osun.

“We have already awarded contracts for 3,500 housing units in those 13 states, which include Abia, Abuja, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Delta, Kano, Katsina, Gombe, Sokoto, Osun, Oyo, Lagos and Yobe.”

While the cities are in Abuja, Kano, and Lagos.

Gov. Abba Kabir, who described the initiative as a gigantic one, applauded the federal government for their kind gesture, saying the housing project will transform Kano into a global city.

The ceremony was graced by the Minister of State federal ministry of Housing and Urban development Engineer Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo and Deputy Governor Kano Comrade Abdulsalam Gwarzo among others.
