Civil Military Cooperation Pivotal to National Security – COAS

Ensuring Effective Civil Military Cooperation has been described a major catalyst of Achieving National Security.

The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tauheed Lagbaja disclosed this during Second Quota of Madia Chat Held in Kano.

Represented by the General Officer Commanding of the Nigerian Defense Academy Major General MLD Saraso said the objectives of the Nigerian Army Civil Military Cooperation was to enhance the Collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the Media with a view to dessiminate the needed information to the general public.

Lieutenant General Tauheed Lagbaja Appreciated the Efforts of the media for bean steadfast in dessiminating accurate ,fair and just reportages on the achievement of the Nigerian Army in providing their constitutional responsibility.

He said the Nigeria Army was committed in ensuring open dialogue and Mutual Respect aimed at ensuring that National Security was being attained .

Lagbaja highlighted the army’s successes in various operations across the country, including the neutralization of terrorists, rescue of abducted Nigerians, and restoration of socio-economic activities in previously deserted communities.

He solicited the media’s cooperation and understanding in reporting security matters, emphasizing the need for responsible and professional practices.

The Chief of Civil Military Affairs of the Nigerian Army Major General Nosacarat Ugbo said the Media Chat will serve as an avenue to interact and Rub minds together between the Nigerian Army and the Media with a view to fine-tune modalities of dessiminating information related to the Army for enhancing National Security.

He Appealed to the media to be constructive and impartial while reporting the activities of the Nigerian Army geared towards Achieving National Security.

The Commissioner for Information Alhaji Baba Halilu Dantiye ,Represented by the Director Public Enlightenment Malam Usman Bello said the interactive session was very timely .

He Applauded the Nigeria for organizing the workshop in Kano,saying it would go along way in enhancing Civil Military Cooperation .

Highlight of the event includes presentation of papers from members of the Academia and other communication experts

The Workshop Themed Synergizing Civil Military Cooperation for National Security:Focus on Nigerian Army- Media Relations attracted participants from the broadcast , print and online journalist.
