Borno State Records Huge Success in 2024 Hajj Exercise

The Acting Executive Secretary, Borno state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Mohammed Dawule, says the state has recorded great success in the 2024 Hajj exercise.

Alhaji Dawule stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Macca.

He explained that this year’s pilgrimage has been well coordinated and organised beginning with the airlift of all the 1,815 pilgrims from Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri to Prince Muhammad ibn Abdulaziz International Airport Madina.

According to the Executive Secretary, the seamless airlift of the pilgrims paved the way for other activities to be carried out without any major hitches.

“The unique things about this year’s Hajj operations started from the airlift, all the pilgrims had been airlifted without interval, this is the first time pilgrims will be ferried from home straight to Madina” Dawule stated.

On issues of welfare of the pilgrims, Alhaji Mohammed Dawule said, the Board in collaboration with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), have improved the services in terms of accommodation and feeding in the two Holy cities of Macca and Madina.

He added that other areas that witnessed improvement include transportation of pilgrims from Madina to Macca, Macca to Muna, Muna to Arafah, Arafah to Mudhdalifa and from Muna back to Macca.

“After completing their stay in Madina, they were all conveyed to Macca without any problem. Here in Macca-Mina, Mina-Arafah, Arafah-Mudhdalifa, Mudhdalifa-Jamraat, we did not encounter any problem and the look of things most of the pilgrims have appreciated the effort the state government”.

The Executive Secretary commended Governor Babagana Zulum for the enormous support to the pilgrims, the Amirul Hajj committee and staff of the Board for their dedication and hardwork to the success of the 2024 Hajj.
